Zendaya e Carey Mulligan hanno troneggiato nelle nomination agli MTV Movie & TV Awards 2021.
A contendersi lo scettro ci saranno anche Daniel Kaluuya, Sacha Baron Cohen e il compianto Chadwick Boseman.
Le star sono in lizza per la migliore interpretazione in un film: Zendaya grazie a «Malcolm & Marie», Carey con «Una donna promettente (Promising Young Woman)», Chadwick in «Ma Rainey's Black Bottom», Daniel con «Judas and the Black Messiah» e Sacha in «Il processo ai Chicago 7 (The Trial of the Chicago 7)».
La miniserie televisiva statunitense del 2021 creata da Jac Schaeffer per la piattaforma di video on demand Disney+, "WandaVision" ha ottenuto cinque nomination, comprese quelle come Miglior Serie e Miglior Villain.
In lizza anche “Bridgerton”, "Emily in Paris", "The Boys" e “Cobra Kai”.
La performance di Emma Corrin nei panni della defunta principessa Diana in “The Crown” le è valsa una nomination per la migliore interpretazione in uno spettacolo, accanto a Anya Taylor-Joy per “La regina degli scacchi (The Queen's Gambit)”. In gara anche Elliot Page, Elizabeth Olsen e Michaela Coel.
L'iconico premio “Best Kiss” andrà a Chase Stokes e Madelyn Cline per “Outer Banks”, Jodie Comer e Sandra Oh per “Killing Eve”, Lily Collins e Lucas Bravo per “Emily in Paris”, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan e Jaren Lewison per “Never Have I Ever” oppure verrà assegnato a Rege-Jean Page e Phoebe Dynevor per “Bridgerton”.
Le votazioni inizieranno il 30 aprile sul sito di MTV.
Gli MTV Movie & TV Awards 2021 si svolgeranno, invece, il 16 maggio al Palladium di Los Angeles.
