Well boys and girls, I decided to sell my 800 shares @50.24 today, take my marbles and go home. Its been a fun ride since I bought this stock for $27 a few years back.

The reason I sold is because I don't quite understand the argument for owning this stock going forward. I don't understand the company's competitive advantages and why Apple and other customers would prefer to buy this company's products over another competitor's products. If this company offers a product that is superior, then how long will it take for the rest of the competitors to catch up? Also, just how much can this company increase its earnings if everything does go right in 2017?

The last time the stock price shot up like this was back in September, 2012 when it went up to just over $44 a share. In about 7 months (Apr 2013), it was trading under $18 per share. Will history repeat itself? I don't know. Maybe this time is different. All I know is that I was able to lock in a nice gain on a stock that I have been wanting to unload for a while now, so I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth. There are other stocks out there with better risk to reward ratios and better chances for growth - at least in my opinion.

I have a Fidelity account and checked out the research reports for this stock. Most of them are holds and at least one was a sell. However, most analysts do have this stock marked as a buy or strong buy.

If you own this stock and are determined to hold it further, can you explain to ignoramuses like me why you think this stock at $50+ per share is a good investment going forward? I have looked for links to articles on this stock, but could not find anything that was written after the run-up that claims why this stock is a good buy at this point.

From conference call on earnings today. Jason P. Rhode - Cirrus Logic, Inc.
Well, obviously, we're very dependent on how well our customers products do when they put them on the market, which isn't something that we're able to guess or forecast. And as much prognostication as goes into that around the world, no one else is either.
This time last year no one was ever going buy a phone again, I think was the accurate summary of the sentiment, and then all the last couple of quarters I've been hearing about the super cycle. So we're not wise enough to guess those things. Obviously, if our customers sell more units then we'll do better than that, but we're not able to give annual guidance with any degree of precision that's helpful so we're just trying to give you that color of a place to model it where you're probably in reasonably good shape and then we'll kind of update you as we go.

Test 200 day at 32.00 if it doesn't hold then it's on to 28.00 again. Remember CRUS has a 70% operating stake in Apple. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise because the majority of the revenue and profit comes directly from Apple and if they are struggling so will this company. These tech stocks that are chip makers for Apple will be directly hit until Apple decides to turn it around. Should be close to dead money until next year around this time. The market will not be as patient this time around for any of these companies and I am looking to short until further notice. Wouldn't let these Bulls on this board steer anyone wrong. Nothing good came out of today's announcements and if there was I would love to know. Until there is noticeable improvement in future revenue and eps then nobody should be interested in sitting on a dead tech stock, jmo.

The thought for next year is that the IPhone 8 will be a huge success and will have additional content from CRUS. Up to 30% content with IPhone sales 30% higher because of 10th anniversary IPhone. Throw in higher non-Apple numbers and you could easily have EPS well over $5. Analysts seem to always be slow to increase estimates.

We might be wrong, but we might see $70 if we are correct. I am holding 10,000 shares and am staying put. The Fidelity reports that you site are worthless IMHO. Good luck.

Keep pulling back I'll be buying outlook weak its going to be a good qtr and then next qtr new iPhone. Plus SAMSUNG wants CRUS I sure thought CRUS would be in the ECHO and Alexis home IOT. Anyway think CRUS looking for a auq? I hope they take a look at SWIR before SWKS makes a bid. LOL SYNA got a bid for 110 turned it down and today its at 57 great deal, my two cents. GO USG, WY,APOG my housing plays with PIR. O re-tail is killing me AEO,GES, and finally almost even well little ahead on SKX. O know anyone whop doesn't eat chicken me either GO SAFM 32% short interest. I'm thinking CRUS board relax I am long and strong CRUS. Might sell some SAFM after earning and double down on CRUS and NO not going to move it. Unless I buy 10% of the float should of at 26 bucks. LOL I think AAPL should buy-out SYNA,SWKS, and CRUS then better margin AAPL all time high list sweet, who KNEW JIM maybe????

CRUS - AAPL delivered on iPhone which should do well for CRUS, SWKS, AVGO, ...lets see if CRUS delivers. CRUS should be $70 near term.
