$NTR $CF $MOS.. analysts on Barrons, Fox Bus, CNBC have mentioned fertilizer market as strong buys due to ingredient shortage from drawn out UKr -Russ war and more importantly new demands from countries across the World who will be focusing on increasing crop production and yields to reduce dependence on imports due to geopolitical unrest ... same situation as energy. Current and forward PE of stocks are attractive and will improve further with increaesed world demand. Can't increase crop yields or be successful planting in marginal soils without fertilizer! Food independence will be more and more a concern as with energy. Makes sense. Time to buy stocks with recent pullback in prices!

Yo, from what I see $IPI and $MOS are great short term buys especially following the recent sell off over the past few days. With disturbance to the wheat market ongoing and supply pressures not going away these are ones to watch for the next few weeks. Where else to make gains in the market right now apart from being long on Oil, agri stocks oh and shorting EV garbage like $TSLA and $NIO? 🤡

K1 & K2 shutdown is not horrible. They will make up the lost production on increased margin for tonnage prices. I wonder if they accelerated the scheduled closures of K1&K2 (9 months early) as a strategic move. Those closures represent a 2-3% elimination of global supply. In a market that is experiencing vast resource scarcity, this only tightens supply; in turn moving up prices. So $MOS eliminates millions of dollars in annual brine removal expenses and captures higher prices for potash. Seems to be a pretty ok situation IMO. Plus they can now move their labor force earlier to a much more productive vein (K3 shaft). Getting a 9month jumpstart on production capacity increases for 2022.

Lithium is not the only material world #2 lithium producer SQM produces. It is also a world class producer of specialty fertilizers and iodine, each of which is also in a bull market. Here is what SQM's CEO, Ricardo Ramos, had to say about the company's performance in those markets:

"In the iodine market, the rapid post-Covid recovery is being reflected in a 25% increase in our sales volumes in the first three quarters of 2021 compared to the same period last year. This strong demand growth should have a positive impact on prices going forward since supply is not keeping up."

The CEO continued by saying, "Given the existing shortage of potash and potassium-based fertilizers, we have seen a significant increase of global potassium prices, letting us report an over 65% increase of our average price in potassium business line during the third quarter of 2021 when compared to the same period last year. This positive trend should continue during the fourth quarter, with prices of potassium-based fertilizers growing at a rate higher than earlier anticipated".

I have two straws I can grasp at this point. First one is that Credit Suisse has a large position and needs liquidity. Second is that acres planted in the South West and California are less than expected due to the drought. If $MOS jumps next week into OpEx then we will know this was a options short.

Regarding our limited sanctions on Russia, we are being lied to by our government and our complicit and/or incompetent media. Americans have been taught over and over again, until they finally just believed it, that Russia is no more than "a gas station masquerading as a country" (John McCain). Over and over again, we are fed that lie. We are incessantly told that all Russia produces is oil and gas.

In the current environment where governments all over the world are being pressured to sanction Russia, this old lie has become very convenient here in the United States. It allows the administration and Congress to act as if they are already doing everything they possibly can with the energy sanctions. Our government and the complicit and/or incompetent media conveniently don't tell the public that Russia is a commodity powerhouse producing many, many commodities other than oil that make the world go around and even feed people. When you add up all the non-energy commodities Russia exports, they all add up to a massive amount (if not quite as large as the energy exports, they are not all that far behind). But our government doesn't want us to know about that. They would prefer that we believe they are already doing everything they possibly can. Well guess what? They aren't. What they could certainly be doing is sanctioning all Russian commodities, not just energy.

Of course, our government doesn't want to do that because of the horrible economic shock it would have on our country, perhaps making the re-election of many currently in power seem a little less likely. The only reason the U.S. could so easily sanction Russian energy is because we hardly ever imported much of the stuff. It was a drop in the bucket. But the fact is that Russia is also a major global exporter of wheat, fertilizer, nickel, aluminum, copper, steel, platinum group metals (especially palladium -- 40% comes from Russia), cobalt, vanadium, and many, many other things necessary for industry (including U.S. industry). If and when the media ever become more informed and/or less complicit, perhaps they will finally tell a largely uninformed public that there is a whole whole lot more we could be sanctioning. And considering the recent atrocities displayed all over our television channels, perhaps once Americans find out that our government has hardly done anything sanctions so far compared to what they could or should be doing... perhaps then they might just pressure our government to do a whole lot more.

Below are just a few of the many stocks that would rally hard if sanctions on Russian commodities ever expand from just oil and gas:

$GLNCY (copper, nickel, cobalt, zinc, lead, coal) $NHYDY (low-carbon, hydropower-produced aluminum) $SQM (fertilizer, iodine, lithium) $PALL (physical palladium ETF) $SMMYY (nickel, cobalt) $AA (aluminum) $FCX (copper) $MOS (fertilizer)

Should be a good summer for Ag stocks. $MOS might trade at $150 like it did in June 2008. All the conditions are similar, or even better than 2008. Besides the inflation factor, Covid created food shortages due to lack of labor in the fields, global shortages due to supply chain issues, etc. China is aggressively purchasing our corn due to uncertainty.

I have this stock on my watchlist since 1,5 years and Im thinking about going long. I thought I missed the boat already last year, but it looks like the stock is back to where it was before. I think agricultural materials are really important for the future. However, I'm doubting given the market circumstances . Especially if Mosaic is able to recover and compete against it's competitors abroad? What do you guys think about the oversupply from "developing" countries. Is Mosaic able to overcome these struggles?
